Yoga at The Well

At The Well, we approach yoga in its fullest sense, not solely as a physical practice, but as a pathway to connection. The word yoga means “to yoke,” to unite, to bring together what has become separate. In a world where disconnection is increasingly the norm, disconnection from ourselves, from each other, from nature, and from meaning, we create space for reconnection. Our intention is to offer practices and opportunities through a holistic lens that gently guide us back into connection.

Yoga at The Well is more than a class. It is a micro-retreat gently woven into the fabric of your day. It begins before you step onto your mat. As you take the short walk through the forest to The Well, you are encouraged to slow your pace, to notice your breath and the nature surrounding you. This walk encourages the nervous system to regulate and offers a gentle transition from the momentum of your day into the present moment. At The Well, nature is our powerful cofacilitator and is woven into each experience.

When you arrive at the yurt, take a moment to settle. You may choose to sip herbal tea, soak in the stillness, rest on your mat, sit among the trees or connect with others as the space fills. There is no rush here, no urgency, only an invitation to land fully. Some evenings after practice, you will have the option to stay a little longer. To sit around the fire under the trees, to share a warm drink, to chat, have some craic or maybe just sit in quiet reflection.

Each yoga practice at The Well is thoughtfully crafted, blending ancient wisdom with modern science and understanding. Classes are run by experienced yoga teachers with thousands of hours of teaching experience and integrate different yoga styles and modalities including vinyasa, yin, restorative, somatic practices, meditation, breathwork and yoga nidra- all interwoven with teachings, themes, and insights that can deepen experience and offer ways to carry the practices into daily life.

Some practices will invite more movement, others more stillness, but all will be deeply nourishing and offer choice. Postures and practices are always invitations, not demands. Some days, your body will crave more movement; other days, stillness will be your practice. Both are equally valuable, both are essential, listen to the guidance of your body.

Yoga at The Well is for every body. There is no perfect way to move, no shape to make, no expectation to meet. Yoga is not about how flexible you are, how you look, how strong you are, whether you can touch your toes or balance on your pinkie finger. It is not about striving, perfecting, or shaping the body into something it isn’t. It’s not even about “doing your best” or “improving” on your last practice, because some days that is impossible and unaligned. Yoga is, and has always been, about coming home to yourself, connecting, meeting yourself exactly as you are, in the moment, with compassion and curiosity, beyond the judgements and expectations placed upon us- by ourselves and by others. Your body is not an obstacle to overcome, it is your teacher, your home, maybe even your friend.

This is the foundation on which we build our yoga practice.

A sanctuary in the forest for yoga, reconnection and renewal.
