The journey towards the creation of The Well is the cumulation of a two-decade exploration into how we heal, grow, thrive and reconnect with ourselves in meaningful ways. As a registered occupational therapist specialising in mental health, a psychology graduate, a former university lecturer and a yoga teacher with over 13 years’ experience, I have spent years studying, and teaching, both the science of wellness and the wisdom of ancient traditions.
The lecturing and healthcare chapter of my life was deeply rooted in science and literature, where everything had to be evidence-based and critically examined. It was during this time that the two worlds I was immersed in, science and yoga, began to converge. I discovered that many of the ancient practices I was studying and teaching in yoga were now being supported by modern research, particularly in areas like nervous system regulation, trauma, mental health, and stress. This overlap became a passion. I began lecturing on the science behind yoga, weaving these practices into my private therapeutic work, and integrating them alongside more modern, contemporary approaches such as somatic therapy, vagal nerve practices, talking therapies, sensory integration, ecotherapy and other mindfulness-based interventions. This fusion of science and spirituality, of ancient wisdom and modern understanding, became the foundation to my approach. It’s what ultimately inspired me to create The Well: a space immersed in nature where both worlds can meet.
My approach is integrative, blending modern research with time-honoured practices that have supported human flourishing for centuries. As well as my professional qualifications, I have trained in multiple areas of yoga and beyond which include vinyasa flow yoga, yin yoga, somatic practices, eco-therapy, the mind-body connection, nervous system regulation, yoga nidra, breathwork, and women’s yoga therapy. Every class, workshop, and session I offer is woven from these threads, creating experiences that are not just about movement, but about connection—to self, to nature, to others, to the innate wisdom within. Yoga is not confined to the mat; it is how we move through life. My goal is to offer accessible practices that can be carried into daily living, where they are most needed. I walk my talk and live my life deeply (and imperfectly!) rooted in the principles and techniques I share, and am of course, forever a student.
As a registered occupational therapist and health professional with almost a decade of experience in private practice, I also offer 1:1 therapeutic support, working with individuals who seek a more tailored approach to wellbeing. Whether navigating stress, burnout, anxiety, low mood, chronic conditions, or simply longing for space to reconnect, these sessions are designed to meet each person where they are. Rooted in a mind-body approach and harnessing the power of ancient wisdom and modern science, they integrate a range of techniques based on the individual’s unique needs, interests, and intentions.
The Well has been born out of years of experience, passion, and learning. Every element of The Well, from its structure and location, to the practices that take place within it, have been designed with deep thought and intention.
My hope is that The Well becomes a place where people come to reconnect, and leave remembering that they already hold everything that they need.
